Outside Fun

Toowoomba has a variety of fun, outdoor activities for kids such as – mini golf, playgrounds, bush walking, gardens, waterbird habitats and much more! click on the links below for more details.

Boyce Rainforest and Gardens

Boyce Garden is a heritage-listed garden that was created by The Boyce’s and is now looked after by Queensland University and it’s one of Toowoomba’s best kept secrets. The kids will love exploring the grounds whilst witnessing biodiversity at its best with a gorgeous rainforest.

It’s open to the public from 09:00am – 4:00pm at 6 Range Street, Toowoomba.

Bushwalking

Bush walking is always a favourite pastime amongst Toowoomba locals and we there are a variety of trails to suit any level of experience. You may find this daunting and may prefer to have a guided bush walk with Toowoomba Bushwalkers Club.

Camp Cooby

School holidays are always an adventure at Camp Cooby which is recommended for older children and won’t dissapoint. Kids are offered a range of activities that will get the adrenaline pumping like rock climbing, canoeing, rafting, sailing, high ropes courses, arts and crafts and cooking or they can prefer something quieter like discovering insects and native animals. They also host family weekend events where you can spend the day or make a weekend of it.  Camp Cooby

Mini Golf

We love nothing better than sinking our teeth into a game of mini golf on a gorgeous day out and City Golf Club has it all. The holes are suitable for all ages and it will provide hours or fun as the kids putt some balls and make new friends. Bring a water bottle and hat because this area gets quite hot. Refreshments are served at this facility and it’s open on Sunday to Thursday from 09:00am – 7:30pm, Friday & Saturday from 09:00am – 8:30pm. City Golf Club

Playgrounds

They don’t call it the Garden City for no reason. We have an abundance of gardens, parks and playgrounds to let the kids run wild like Laurel Bank Park, Queens Park, Glenvale Park, Peacehaven Park and Picnic Point to name but a few. All you need to do is invite friends, have a picnic and start exploring. Toowoomba’s best playgrounds

Toowoomba Hide ‘n Seek Rocks

The name of the game is hiding and finding beautifully coloured rocks. You can hide the rocks in different locations and then hop on the Toowoomba Hide ‘’n Seek Facebook page and tell the other mums so they can go find them. Once found, you then re-hide the rocks for a new adventure.  You are also encouraged to make your own and hide them for others to discover. All you need is rocks (small enough for little hands) and get the kids to decorate them with colourful artworks. Have fun. Toowoomba Hide n Seek Rocks

Toowoomba Waterbird Habitat

Toowoomba Waterbird habitat is a great place to take the kids and get lost in the beauty of the nature and our wildlife. The kids will love feeding the ducks or watching them swim from the enclosed deck area. There is a lovely shady tree to have a picnic or take them on a nice stroll along the walking path. There is a park on the opposite side of the road and a great way to break up the morning.
