COBB & CO MUSEUM
This is one of Toowoomba’s must-see attractions. Kids will love exploring the Energy for Life Discovery Centre and getting up close to fossils from prehistoric animals. Check out the school holidays program to find out what other activities are on offer. This museum is open daily from 09:30 – 4:00pm daily.

AUSTRALIAN ARMY FLYING MUSEUM
If you have a little aviation enthusiast, this is 1 excursion you won’t want to miss. This museum is 25 min from Toowoomba, just through Oakey. It houses an impressive 22 aircrafts, some on display and others undergoing restoration. You will also be able to view relics from WW1 and be submersed in the in the history of aviation. The museum is open from Wednesday through Sunday from 10am – 3pm. Why not BYO picnic and make a day of it.

DOWNSSTEAM RAILWAY AND MUSEUM
Explore this family friendly excursion as you learn all about the history and restoration work at DownsSteam such as the ‘Pride of Toowoomba’ (steam locomotive) that was built at the Toowoomba Foundry in 1915 and the only remaining C16 class steam locomotive. Opening hours on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 9:00am – 3:00pm. SITE OPEN DAY: 1 st Saturday of everymonth from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

HIGHFIELDS PIONEER VILLAGE
History is the name of the game and you can discover an array of things to see and do such as The Transport Museum, Toowoomba Fire Brigade Museum, Ambulance Museum and much more. You can also see ‘Myrtle May’, The Miniature steam train running on the last Sunday of each month. The Highfields Pioneer Village is open daily from 10 am – 4 pm.

JONDARYN WOOLSHED
It’s about 45km from Toowoomba and is the oldest operating woolshed in the world. Here you can take a self-guided tour of the woolshed and working museum village. There’s so many things the kids will love exploring like the animal nursery, cheese factory and train rides that are held every 3rd Sunday of the month. The woolshed is open daily, excluding public holidays.

PITTSWORTH HISTORICAL VILLAGE
You will be able to see the old Pittsworth Post Office, the post masters residence, the original one-teacher school, the telephone exchange and a fully furnished cottage from the 1900’s. This village is open, on a Thursday and Friday from 10am – 1pm, Sunday 10am – 2pm.

QUEENSLAND TRANSPORT MUSEUM
The Queensland Transport Museum is situated in Gatton. This museum is sure to get your pulse racing as you explore over 24 forms of transport and over 200 models through the ages. It also features interactive displays and well as a driving simulator. It’s open from Monday to Friday from 09:00am – 5:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 09:00am – 4:30pm.

THE BUNYAS
Spend the day at the beautiful Bunya Mountains, head to the markets on the last Sunday of each month, take a walk through our bush walks and visit the waterfall. Local stores, and cafes on site. Why not stay the night in one of their rental property’s. A must for everybody.

THE HERITAGE CENTRE
Did you know that Toowoomba has the only Road Building Museum in Australia! Explore the Heritage Centre that offers exhibits that covers everything from road planning to an interactive trail teaching our kids how the ‘black stuff’ is made!’ Please see website for opening times.
